Super Easy Chocolate Sauce

I wanted to use chocolate sauce  for my Giant Cookie recipe, but I didn’t have some. I did have some left over cocoa powder and some brown sugar, so I tried making my own. I used the same measurements of the three ingredients.  I figured that since you needed equal  amounts of sugar and water to make a thick sweet syrup, my sauce would probably have a great chance of thickening if I follow that ratio. I just added he same amount of cocoa powder and hoped for the best. Luckily, my first try did not end up being an epic fail.

I didn’t get to record the whole process though, so below is a clip of me whisking the sauce. I pulled the sauce off the heat just when it was about to receive the consistency that I wanted because I thought that it would thicken some more once it’s refrigerated.

Here are the ingredients:

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup water

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan. Whisk until there are no more lumps and the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Put the pot on medium heat, whisking until the mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat once you achieve your desired thickness. Transfer into a container, cool and put in the fridge until it’s time to use it.

Use this sauce on top of ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or on top of a Giant Cookie.
